Do I need a phone number to sign up?

No. You register with a username and password. Your KalTiQ calling number comes from KalTiQ and is not tied to a SIM or carrier.

Can I call people who are not on KalTiQ?

No. KalTiQ calls are internet calls between KalTiQ users. That keeps them independent of carrier fees and borders.

Is KalTiQ end-to-end encrypted?

Not by default. Traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS and messages are stored by the platform so history, groups and moderation work. End-to-end encrypted private chats are on the roadmap.

What happens to my number if I change devices?

Your number belongs to your account, so it remains available after you sign in on another supported device.
